.The Daffodils cover the entire bed as does the Oxeye Daisies. The Oxeyes are evergreen so they keep the bed neat and tidy and suppress weeds year-round. The Peonies share their bed with Candytuft which blooms early. The Hydrangeas complement the line of existing large shrubs, Rhododendron, Buddleia, and Forsythia.

.The early spring is dominated by daffodils which cover the entire bed. Perennials that were cut back in the fall have not yet put out their leaves, the daffodils cover their scraggly bases. Theyre joined by Forsythia.

.By about April the Dogwood and Banksia are fully out. The Daffodils have ended and the Oxeye Daisies are just beginning a month of bloom. The Rhododendron is fully out.

.

.By June all the spring flowers are done and the summer flowers take their place. The hydrangea is out in the shady part at the back. The catmint is first (nepeta) to bloom in the sun followed by Rudbeckia in mid to late summer. Then the Echinacea (coneflower, "white swan") and finally Russian Sage. These thrive in the hot August and September, some holding their blooms till frost. The Sage and Catmint can be cut back in half just after the peak of their bloom in late summer and they will bloom again before fall, (weather permitting).
